New Delhi, July 13 : Jennifer Love Hewitt has noticed that her popularity has increased of late because she wears skimpy clothes in her hit TV series ‘Ghost Whisperer’.

In the show, the actress plays Melinda Gordon, who can converse with spirits.

And Love Hewitt insists that men like her because of her sexy appearance, the China Daily reports.

She told gossip website Absolute Now: “I have met a lot of men who love Melinda because she wears a lot of nighties and runs around in the dark!”

However, she is also happy that the programme has female fans who not necessarily like her for the same reason.

She explained: “Women seem to be drawn to my character because her marriage is kind of perfect and great and that’s what a lot of women dream of.”

Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love Hewitt has revealed she gets people coming up to her on the street thinking she is really psychic. Jennifer, 30, plays psychic Melinda Gordon in the CBS series, who helps the troubled dead to move to the “other side”.  But is she a real life ghost whisperer?

She said: “In real life, I get approached by people who believe that I really have some psychic ability.” Jennifer added: “They’ll come up to me and they’re sobbing because they’ve lost someone.

The star actress added, “I wish I was the person they think I am and that I could help, but I’m just an actress playing a part.

“Then again, after playing her for four years, I feel Melinda has become almost like my best friend. I get affected by what’s happening to her. “There are definitely days where I need to go home and unwind!”
